As with all Patricia St. John's book, this story is both gripping and challenging. It's about a Christian Lebanese family dealing with the struggles of war in their country. The book is written from the perspective of the family's teenage daughter, who is exploring her faith, particularly the issue of forgiveness, and who is also falling in love with a young man. The family experiences some terrible losses and tragedies, but their faith in God in the face of destruction all around them holds and helps them find healing and new beginnings. A difficult but beautiful story that will challenge readers to trust God, love family, and care for those who may be suffering around them.
