New Publication: Prayer and Evangelism by Jessie Penn-Lewis

Kingsley Press is pleased to announce the immediate availability of our newest publication: Prayer and Evangelism by Jessie Penn-Lewis. “God wants intercessors,” the author states. “The greatest blessing God could give his church today would be a few souls who pray as Elijah prayed; a few intercessors who know his will, and seek and pray for nothing else. May God raise them up.” Most Christians would agree with this conviction. A careful meditation on these pages will act as a powerful stimulus in turning this conviction into personal experience. Those who, at some stage in their Christian lives, have cried as the disciples of old, “Lord, teach us to pray,” will find valuable help from the lessons highlighted here.

Mrs. Penn-Lewis was instrumental in leading many souls into a deeper walk with the Lord. She traveled to Russia, Scandinavia, Switzerland, Canada, the USA, and India. She was a frequent speaker at large conferences for the deepening of spiritual life such as those at Mildmay, Keswick and Llandrindod Wells. She also founded the Overcomer magazine in 1908, a serious journal on the pursuit of the deeper Christian life. Her life became linked with some of the spiritual giants of her day, including D. L. Moody and Andrew Murray, as well as F. B. Meyer, whom she considered “an old friend.” Her many books continue to be a source of encouragement and enlightenment to many.
