Description

A Collection of Daily Readings by Classic Deeper-Life Authors

NEWLY PACKAGED AND REPRINTED FOR 2023 with a Foreword by Jim Cymbala.

Many Christians are hungry for a deeper walk with God, but too often we fail to see the results we hope for. Why is this?

Frequently it’s because we’re trying to please God by the power of self instead of the power of the Spirit. Sometimes, especially if we’ve spent years missing the mark, it’s easy to become discouraged and give up altogether.

Godly men and women throughout history have understood this struggle. In this easy-to-read 366-day devotional, people like Amy Carmichael, F. B. Meyer, Andrew Murray, and others who walked closely with God show us how to die to self and to surrender to the Spirit. Their writings, blending teaching and testimony, unfold what it means to abide in Christ through topics like the cross, obedience, prayer, revival, and missions.

From the days of the early church to today, the answer has been the same: “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Col. 1:27). As we surrender the self-life for the Christ life, God will revive us, both individually and corporately. The result will be life, joy, rest, increasing spiritual maturity, prayer, a desire for service, and a love for people.

Comment
One month into reading this and it has been an exceptional way to start each day. I appreciate the addition of the author and work from which the daily devotion is derived. So far I've ordered one book (Andrew Murray's The Two Covenants) which I'd never heard of. And there will be more bo doubt. The categorizing the devotional topics by month is also very helpful. Rather than jumping all over the place, it is focused, and I need that. I would highly recommend this devotional for anyone who is searching for something more than the superficial and shallow. These daily readings will challenge, edify and encourage you in your walk with the Lord.
Advantages
I love this deeper devotional. I’m getting daily spiritual truths from some giants of the faith that apply to my daily walk with Jesus. The book also includes an inspiring testimony at the beginning of each month. I also love the biographies in the back on these chosen men and woman of the faith.
Comment
I would love a hard cover edition of this devotional because I will be reading it over and over.
Also even though it goes deeper in thought and meaning it is very easy to understand and apply to my walk with Jesus.
Comment
This Devotional is phenomenal. I've read it numerous times and it always reminds me of of spiritual truths that are applicable to daily living. Challenging, insightful and worth sharing with others; it goes deep with writings from two dozen giants of the faith.
