Kingsley Press is pleased to announce the immediate release of Uncompromising Faith: Brief Pen Sketches of George Whitefield, John Cennick, George Fox, and Henry Alline. This powerful new book from the founder of SermonIndex.net examines the lives of four spiritual giants from the past and draws lessons from their lives that can be applied to today's Christians. Steve Gallagher, founder of Pure Life Ministries, says of this book: "Greg Gordon is a spiritual sleuth who looks for the motivating factors that compelled great men and women of God to live extraordinary and meaningful lives. As he took up his pen to write the sketches you will find in this book, these are the things he is focused upon."
For each of the four men, there is a brief biography, followed by an application chapter which draws out lessons that can be learned from their lives and applied to the reader's own Christian walk. In each case this application chapter is followed up by a collection of stirring quotations from that person's writings.
From the back cover:
In this day of seeker-friendly churches, “Your Best Life Now” messages, and compromised TV evangelists, Uncompromising Faith issues a fresh challenge to live a true faith. This book is a rallying cry to today’s Christians to stand for the truth, following the examples of past heroes of the faith. This book will encourage you with the testimonies of four preachers from the past who did not compromise in their day. They believed in the reality of an eternal hell, were not afraid to preach the true gospel, were willing to suffer greatly, and did not shrink from self-denial.
For a limited time, we are offering this book at the discounted price of $5.99 per copy, which represents a 33% discount from the RRP. So order copies now for yourself and your friends.

Kingsley Press is pleased to announce the immediate availability of their newest publication: Mrs. Penn-Lewis: A Memoir by Mary N. Garrard. This is an incredible biography! If you only read one book this whole summer, let it be this one! This is the original biography, first published in 1930, and is complete and unabridged but completely re-typeset. As with all other Kingsley Press publications, this book is also available as an eBook for Kindle, iBooks, Nook, and Kobo.
Part of the first paragraph of the book's introduction is an apt description of her own spiritual journey:
"There is a course prepared for each believer from the moment of his new birth, providing for the fullest maturity of the new life within him and the highest which God can make of his life in the use of every faculty for his service. To discover that course and fulfill it is the one duty of every soul."
Mrs. Penn-Lewis seems to have determined from the very beginning of her walk with God that she would seek to possess in actual experience everything that Christ's redemptive work purchased for her--that she would "possess her possessions." Here is what she wrote on her 23rd birthday:
"All that I have, all that I am, all that I may be is Thine, wholly, absolutely, and unreservedly," wrote Jessie Penn-Lewis on her twenty-third birthday, "and I do believe that Thou dost take me, and that Thou wilt work in me to will and to do Thy good pleasure. Day by day draw me nearer."

Major Ian Thomas learned early in life that the secret to victory and success in the Christian life is allowing Christ to live his very own life in us and through us, rather than trying to "do our best" to live the Christian life with our own resources. He was greatly used of God as a preacher, writer and teacher.
In this newly republished book, If I Perish, I Perish, Major Thomas examines the Christian life through the lens of an allegorical interpretation of the Old Testament book of Esther. The character of Esther, representative of the human spirit, depicts that the call of the Lord Jesus on the Christian is to be crucified with Christ and to become alive in the Spirit.
Perhaps you will never read the book of Esther in quite the same way again!

Kingsley Press is pleased to announce the immediate availability of The Anxious Inquirer After Salvation Directed and Encouraged by John Angell James. The book was written in 1834 by the pastor of a city church in England. It was tremendously popular in its day, going through six editions in its first year and selling over half a million copies overall. The author's biographer, John Campbell, considered it to be "immeasurably superior" to Richard Baxter's A Call to the Unconverted and Philip Doddridge's Rise and Progress of Religion in the Soul--both of which are perhaps more widely known than The Anxious Inquirer.
Although written primarily for those who have been awakened to their need of a Savior, The Anxious Inquirer can be read with profit by anyone, including those who have been churchgoers for many years, and especially those who are called upon to counsel people who are anxious about their soul’s salvation.
Deep anxiety about salvation is the most reasonable thing in the world. As immortal spirits destined for eternal bliss or everlasting misery, no question is more important than “What must I do to be saved?” This book answers that question in classic fashion. The author skillfully guides the seeking soul to the one and only source of salvation, the Lord Jesus Christ and his finished work on the cross. Biblical repentance and saving faith are clearly explained. The reader is also offered much practical advice on dealing with common mistakes, perplexities and discouragements encountered by those seeking salvation.
This is a reprint of an early edition printed in London. Nothing has been done to “update” the author’s style or usage; however, punctuation has been updated, and capitalizations have been aligned to modern Christian publishers’ guidelines.

Today Kingsley Press announces the immediate availability of our latest classic reprint: The Bible and Spiritual Life by A. T. Pierson. Dr. Pierson's purpose in this book was to show and illustrate that the Bible is God’s exact provision, satisfaction and guide for all the cravings and crises of man’s moral and spiritual life. Only the creator, who knows perfectly what is in man, could have made a book which so completely anticipates and answers all the needs of his higher nature.
Dr. Pierson was a prolific speaker and writer. He succeeded Charles Spurgeon as pastor of the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London. He was also a consulting editor for the Schofield Reference Bible, lecture at Moody Bible Institute, and wrote an acclaimed biography of George Müller of Bristol.
The book has been completely retypeset and is available to purchase on our site as a paperback, as well as being available as an eBook for Kindle, Nook and iBooks.
This is a classic on how the Bible relates to spiritual life and will richly repay careful reading. Get your copy now.
Today we're pleased to introduce to you our newest release: a reprint of the life story of Tommie Titcombe, pioneer missionary to the Yagba people of Nigeria, Africa. His story is a blood-stirring pioneer thriller! Here's the full description from the back cover:
Tommie Titcombe was small in stature physically, but spiritually he was a giant. Saved in his early twenties, he soon felt called of God to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who had never heard the good news of salvation. Twice he applied to the Sudan Interior Mission, and twice he was refused. He told the director, Rowland Bingham, that he was going to Africa anyway. Upon being asked what board he was going under, Tommie replied, “I don’t know, Mr. Bingham. It may be some old woman’s wash board, but I’m going to Africa!” Seeing Tommie’s determination, Mr. Bingham soon afterwards relented and accepted him into SIM and he became the first missionary to live among the Yagba people of Nigeria, West Africa. His story is a blood-stirring pioneer thriller. More than that, it is the record of how God used a very ordinary man to break into an animistic society and start a movement that produced a large and healthy church. Tommie Titcombe’s spiritual insights and personal courage have made his name a legend among the many Christians of Yagbaland. His story also provides us with an extremely relevant case history of sound missionary principles at work.

Today we added a classic work from Watchman Nee: The Release of the Spirit. Surely this is an hour when the battleground is over the soul. The Lord is seeking to work from the inside, through the spirit, regenerated by the new birth. Whereas Satan is attempting to work from the outside, through the soul, made corrupt by the Fall. Even in the believer, the self-hyphenated strengths of the outer man, the unbroken soul, have not yet been brought under the control of the Spirit. For this, Watchman Nee helps us to see that in order for his life-giving Spirit to be released through the channel of the human spirit, the "hard-shell" soul of the outward man necessitates breaking.
Watchman Nee became a Christian in mainland China in 1920 at the age of seventeen and began writing in the same year. Throughout the nearly thirty years of his ministry, Watchman Nee was clearly manifested as a unique gift from the Lord to His Body for his move in this age. In 1952 he was imprisoned for his faith; he remained in prison until his death in 1972. His words remain an abundant source of spiritual revelation and supply to Christians throughout the world.

Here are a few recent reviews that I wanted to highlight.
This book will Change your life. DeVern was given revelation that comes from the heart of God. I first read this book in 1973. it will change your view from earth to Heaven and from knowing the acts of God to knowing His Ways Psa. 103:7. This book is a foundation to build on. The Lord has Lead me into the Hebrew language that really defines our Fathers Views and what beats from His Heart. Thank you Kingsley Press for being a vessel to get this message out. This is a very well-written and detailed biography of an exceptional spiritual man, written by another exceptional spiritual man. It also includes a pamphlet written by Groves entitled, "Christian Devotedness" which sets forth the teaching of trusting the Lord with your needs. This teaching was literally exemplified by Groves who, together with his wife and small children, closed his dental practice in London, sold all they had, gave to the poor and then headed for missionary service in India. Outstanding. Finally, the book sets forth how the Brethren began in the early 1800's by a handful of men who met together in the simplicity of the New Testament only to see many missionaries later be sent out to Africa, India, China and other places. I've marked it up and read it so often in the past 5 years I'm sure I'll soon be re-ordering it. Robert Anderson
This is an incredible book. For anyone who is a student of revival, this is a must read. I have read it several times already. It's simplicity and the fact that we see Oswald J. Smith's transformation for little or no experience in revival to a consistent work of the Holy Spirit in his church was so very good. As one who has struggled with this for over 40 years, this book brought a lot of clarity to my thinking and heart. I am determined to follow his 'process' of seeking God until..... -Jerry Soen
