Our online store recently underwent a software upgrade. Hopefully this will improve your shopping experience. The biggest changes are to the checkout process. Whenever you click on "checkout," if you have not already visited your shopping cart, it will take to view the contents of your cart where you can see shipping estimates, enter gift certificates or discount coupons. Then when you press "checkout" again you will be directed to the actual checkout process, which has been considerably streamlined. We hope you like it.

We are always trying to improve your shopping experience and trying to expand our inventory to include more items that will hopefully be a blessing and encouragement to your walk with the Lord. Please let us know if there are items you would like to see on our store, and we will consider carrying them.

We regret to inform our customers that as of today, July 16, 2010, we will no longer be accepting credit card orders over the telephone. Our company has recently undergone a process to meet the rigorous demands of PCI compliance, and we are now fully PCI compliant. However, this has meant that we can no longer accept credit card orders over the phone as this involves recording credit card data on our premises, and it is much more difficult and costly to become PCI compliant if credit card data is processed or stored on our premises (even though we have always shredded any paper records containing credit card data once processed).

From now on, all orders will either have to be paid for online through our website (which has been tested for vulnerabilities as part of meeting the PCI requirements) or paid for by some form of paper instrument (check, money order, etc. payable in US funds).

Our web site has been scanned and tested by McAfee Secure, the world's largest PCI scan vendor, and has been certified as a safe place to make online purchases.

Over the past few days we've added several new titles. Two of these are by Samuel Chadwick: The Path of Prayer and The Way to Pentecost. Chadwick was a godly man who lived what he preached and his books are full of inspiration and challenge, though written in a simple and non-technical style. Leonard Ravenhill lit his torch at Chadwick's fire. Jim Cymbala of Brooklyn Tabernacle comments that Chadwick's books are almost unparalleled for their spiritual clarity.

Also added were Several titles by G. H. Lang: Coming Events, The Revelation of Jesus Christ, and Divine Guidance. G. H. Lang was a deep Bible student and wrote extensively on prophetic subjects.

Finally, we added another title by the increasingly popular Samuel Logan Brengle: The Way of Holiness. This is smaller than the other two Brengle titles we carry, but it's still vintage Brengle and you will profit from every page.

If you're an international customer and have been put off by high shipping costs, read on.

A couple of weeks ago or so we received an email from a potential customer commending us on the low prices of books on our site but saying that they could not purchase anything due to the high shipping costs. I mulled this over, but didn't think there was anything we could do about it because our shipping rates come live from the US Postal Service's web site and the UPS web site.

However, yesterday I was manually entering an order from a customer in Canada and when I got to the checkout stage, realized that there was only one option offered: Priority Mail. The cost was $21.75--only 5 cents less than the books themselves! Something kept telling me there was something wrong here, so I started to dig a little deeper. 

What I discovered was that some time in the last few months, the US Postal Service changed the codes that it sends to our web site for various First Class Mail services, First Class Mail International being one of them. So this option was not showing up in our shopping cart at checkout. A simple fix of the code brought this option back.

I apologize that this option has been missing for several months, but am now glad to report that if your order weighs less than 4lbs, you can choose First Class Mail International and pay MUCH LESS for shipping. In the above example, this brought the shipping down to $8.93!

If I had to pick one book out of this year's additions to the online store, it would have to be Outrageous Mercy by William P. Farley. This is one of the BEST books I have ever read on the Cross. It is eye opening and deeply challenging. I give this book my highest recommendation and wish every Christian would read it and study it. We've been busy adding new titles to the store, among them some interesting audiobooks: Mere Christianity, The Christian's Secret of a Happy Life, The Hiding Place, and Treasures of the Snow by Patricia St. John. The latter is in three different formats: Audio CD, MP3 CD, and MP3 download. This means that you can listen to these books being read to you while you travel, work, or while you just sit and listen. As promised a few weeks ago, we have now launched our new look and new features. We are still fine tuning a few things, but the basic functionality and design are here. Several customers have already placed orders using our new checkout system, and while there have been a couple of minor glitches, everything seems to be working great. If you're a long time customer, you've probably noticed that our site has pretty much looked the same and worked the same for about four years now. So it's time for a new look and some new features. In the very near future, the site design will be completely overhauled and new features will be added.

Here are some of the new features we are hoping to include:

• Create a store account so you don't have to enter billing and shipping information each time you order. Also view past orders and even repeat past orders with one click.
• Create your personal wishlist.
• Purchase gift certificates for friends.
• One page checkout.
